Livestream Update
Over the past couple of months, the church staff and the Board of Elders have been reviewing Good Shepherd’s use of livestreaming the Divine Service on Sunday mornings. After careful consideration and conversation, we have decided to cease livestreaming Divine Services after December 31, 2023.
Factors that contributed to this decision include but are not limited to low viewership, poor sound quality, number of staff hours required to support, low number of volunteers, and ongoing costs to improve and maintain our technological capabilities.
However, Pastor Rogness will continue to post his sermons on his blog, Rogness on Tap. Additionally, he is working on setting up a podcast channel to try podcasting sermons. This will allow individuals to listen to sermons from any computer or smartphone anywhere they find themselves.
Also, if winter weather ever forces us to cancel the Sunday Divine Service, granted he has electricity, Pastor Rogness will use Facebook, YouTube, or the church website to broadcast a service for God’s flock at Good Shepherd. This would be communicated on the day of the event.
Lastly, Good Shepherd continues to support Main Street Living, a weekly televised and streamed worship service of professional quality sponsored by the South Wisconsin District of the LCMS. Additionally, Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis livestream their chapel services daily.
While we know this may be sad news, if you regularly cannot attend service, please get in touch with the church office, as Pastor Rogness is eager to bring God’s Word and the Lord’s Supper to you!
In Christ,
The Elders of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Pastor Rogness
